When it comes down to it, freedom is the ultimate goal and end point for any financial endeavor in life. If you get to a point in your life where you can do whatever you want whenever you want, you have most definitely won the game of life.
However, many of our freedoms are being slowly stripped and taken away from us. A lot of people don’t care as long as they can sit on their couch and watch Friends reruns on TV every Thursday night. However, that is going to fly for me, and it’s not going to fly for any other man in his prime trying to live an alpha lifestyle.
The most important thing to becoming truly free as a man is developing the “no job” mentality. Am I telling you to quit your job (like you would even do that anyways)? Absolutely not. In fact, I think that wouldn’t be a very good idea unless you have a much better opportunity available to you.
However, that does mean that you shouldn’t be relying on your 9 to 5 as your main source of income. You need to start developing multiple streams of income. At virtually any time your income can be completely destroyed if you only have a few sources of income. For most people, they only have one source of income, which is practically financial suicide. That’s why so many people were crushed by the last recession. Those with multiple streams of income were able to pivot and remain flexible.
Again, if you want to find a day job for the benefits or extra padding of security, I get it and think it’s a great idea. Just don’t end up relying on that.
On top of coming up with a bunch of areas to draw money from, you need to stay out of debt! There are way too many people in this country who struggle under mounting, heavy debt. That amount of daily pressure and anxiety isn’t healthy and it doesn’t ever have to happen. The reason why debt accumulates is because people make very foolish decisions in the short-term that weigh heavy over a lifetime. The only debt that is truly acceptable is college debt (and perhaps mortgages if you were smart about the purchase).
Finally, on top of avoiding debt and building out your financial portfolio, you must remain on top of your relationships with females. What does this mean? Bottom line, you are a man and you make the decisions. You call the shots. Recognize the fact that your duty as a man is to be a strong leader for others. Yet, if you allow yourself to be chained to the wrong person, you will murder your ability to live a stress-free and free life. Don’t do it. If you already made this mistake and now you’re stuck, find a way to renegotiate and remember: be a man about it.
